BBC backs Birmingham with investment.

A major move for broadcast company BBC is in the works as the corporation commits to increasing investment in Birmingham, relocating from The Mailbox to a purpose-built regional hub at The Tea Factory in the city centre.

This new regional hub will see shows such as MasterChef, SilentWitness and central radio shows in production from this new centre.

Creating more than 900 new jobs, this move will see an additional £282 million in gross value added to the West Midlands region by 2031.

BBC Director, Tim-Davie, explained the reasons behind the move: “We believe in making world class content [from Birmingham], putting the people and the place at the epicentre of the creative industries while reflecting their stories.”

Birmingham is well established as a creative hub, home to five universities and named the UK’s second city.

An investment opportunity not to be missed

According to Savills’ 5-year residential forecast, property prices in the West Midlands are set for an increase of 26.4% by 2029 – far ahead of London at 17.1%.

Booming in popularity, growth and career opportunities, Birmingham is a high yielding, established investment hotspot. The city has transformed from an industrial capital into an exciting and youthful creative centre. Large global companies such as Deloitte, PwC, HSBC and Lloyds Bank have chosen Birmingham as a hub for their companies – taking advantage of the ambitious talent pool in Birmingham.

As a city that is rapidly growing, the time to invest in Birmingham is now.

Birmingham: The UK’s leading investment city

With a thriving job market, strong residential interest and recognition nationwide as the ‘second city’, Birmingham is a great opportunity for prime property investment. As projected by Savills, the West Midlands is set to have significant growth, and property prices set to increase significantly by 2029 (increase of 26.4%).

Global companies, such as the BBC and Goldman Sachs, have also committed to the city by bringing huge investment and attracting talent from all over the country. This sets Birmingham up as a career hotspot – subsequently making the city an excellent choice for property investment.
